Slice not recognised

#1

When plugging in Slice to my computer, OS Linux Mint 17.3, the following message appears

Error mounting /dev/sdb1 at /media/alan/Slice-HD: Command-line `mount -t “exfat” -o “uhelper=udisks2,nodev,nosuid” “/dev/sdb1” “/media/alan/Slice-HD”’ exited with non-zero exit status 32: mount: unknown filesystem type ‘exfat’

Any ideas?

Sounds like you’ll need to install exfat-utils. See: Mount error using slice as usb drive with linux (SOLVED)

Tried installing two versions of exfat-utils. No joy

Not sure about different exfat-utils versions. Did you check if fuse-exfat package is installed on your Mint? Did you try a reboot of your Mint?

Sorry, but that is the limit of my exfat expertise; perhaps try the Mint forums, since it sure appears to be a exfat recognition problem on your Mint OS.
